Zusammenfassung: | Work is being undertaken at Thermotech on the development of software for predicting a wide range of materials properties. These properties include thermophysical and physical properties, mechanical properties, TTT/CCT diagrams, etc., and the calculations are being applied to a variety of multicomponent alloy types, such as Ni-based superalloys, steels, Ti alloys, and Al alloys. The user interacts with the program using a simple graphical user interface, and the software basis is designed to be platform independent, able to run on Windows 98/NT/2000, Linux, Unix-based workstations, etc. The new program is particularly aimed at multicomponent alloys used in industrial practice, and numerous examples of calculated results for the various properties are presented, with the emphasis on validation of the calculated results against experimental observations.
