Coulometric and thermogravimetric differentiations of water from organic groups on heating heterometallic alkoxides of glycerol

Zusammenfassung:In this study, thermogravimetric (TG) and differential thermogravimetric (DTG) curves of selected samples of heterometallic alkoxides were recorded with a Dupont TG 951 instrument, in flowing air. The TG and DTG curves were recorded simultaneously from room temperature to 1000 degree C at a heating rate of 10 degree C min super(-1). Weight losses were determined by classical gravimetry after heating the samples at 100 degree C and subsequently at approx. 270 degree C, in air. For purposes of comparison, the coulometric determinations were carried out in flowing dry nitrogen and in air atmospheres for each heating process. The average of 5 determinations was computed for each sample.
