Zusammenfassung: | Based on the coupled-mode theory, Cherenkov second harmonic generation (CSHG) from a channel waveguide has been analyzed and optimized comprehensively and systematically, taking the propagation loss, the conversion depletion and the birefringence into account. The results show that the propagation loss, the conversion depletion and the birefringence have an important influence on CSHG. Furthermore, quasi-phase-matched CSHG has been investigated and optimized, the numerical calculations demonstrate that a high conversion efficiency (more than 30%) with a relatively wide fabricating tolerance can be realized by tuning the fundamental wavelength under the relatively very low input fundamental power (10 mW), and the optimum parameters including the waveguide thickness, the reversal period, the fundamental wavelength and the fabricating tolerance have been obtained. |
