Magnetic resonance and Mossbauer studies of GdSr sub(2)Cu sub(2)RuO sub(8)

The sites occupied by copper during production of its low-field magnetic resonance were analyzed. GdSr sub(2)Cu sub(2)RuO sub(8) superconducted at an onset temperature T sub(c) approximately equal to 45 K, and exhibited a low-field magnetic resonance due to magnetically ordered Cu. When the cuprate...

Zusammenfassung:The sites occupied by copper during production of its low-field magnetic resonance were analyzed. GdSr sub(2)Cu sub(2)RuO sub(8) superconducted at an onset temperature T sub(c) approximately equal to 45 K, and exhibited a low-field magnetic resonance due to magnetically ordered Cu. When the cuprate planes are homogeneously magnetic, the superconductivity must be located in the SrO layers instead of being in the cuprate planes. Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and Mossbauer studies indicated that in GdSr sub(2)Cu sub(2)RuO sub(8), Ru was in pentavalent Ru super(+5) form.
