A NEXAFS spectroscopic examination of the supramolecular organization of a red reactive Azo dye adsorbed onto cellulose substrates

Synchrotron near-edge X-ray absorption fine structure (NEXFAS) spectroscopy was used to examine the supramolecular organization adopted by the dye Cl Reactive Red (CIRR) 3:1, absorbed onto cotton and cellophane substrate materials using both physisorbed and chemisorbed preparative methods. The NEXAF...

Zusammenfassung:Synchrotron near-edge X-ray absorption fine structure (NEXFAS) spectroscopy was used to examine the supramolecular organization adopted by the dye Cl Reactive Red (CIRR) 3:1, absorbed onto cotton and cellophane substrate materials using both physisorbed and chemisorbed preparative methods. The NEXAFS spectra were recorded in fluorescence yield mode over the spectra regions 195-210 eV and 280-320 eV, using beamline U1A. The spectra were recorded at angles with respect to the incident beam at 10 degree -intervals from 90 degree to 20 degree . No signal was obtained at the Cl-L edges for the CIRR chemisorbed to cotton or cellophane.
