Zusammenfassung:The Marci Effect does not appear in the nickel base superalloy IN100. Among the alloys investigated so far, only titanium base alloys show the Marci Effect. In Ti-6246, the abnormal crack growth effect occurs roughly above K sub max =21MParoot m which is 72% of K sub IC . The influence of room temperature creep seems to be low since no change in the crack grow rate was observed due to a change in frequency from 50-10 Hz. Tests with greater variation of frequency would be necessary to clarify this point. The loading history characteristic for the K sub max -constant test is not a necessary condition for the occurrence of the Marci Effect.
