Complementary measurement techniques for the detection of wall conditions in supersonic flow

Zusammenfassung: | The possibility of indirectly and non-intrusively determining wall temperature or alternatively wall pressure in a 2D supersonic flow is shown using equations of state and interferograms which yield the accompanying density field close to the wall. In the first case, the detection of recovery temperature is circumvented; in the second case, pressure distribution of higher resolution is attained in regions of unfavorable wall geometry.
