Zusammenfassung:The removal of oxygen from thin CoO layers on Co(101̄0) under the action of H 2 proceeds simultaneously through thinning of the oxide layer by removal of oxygen from the oxide/metal interface region and through lowering of the oxygen concentration in the remaining oxide. This conclusion has been reached by using a high-energy ion channeling and blocking technique in combination with ellipsometry and nuclear reaction analysis.
