Zusammenfassung: | Global Positioning System (GPS) satellite-based technology is being widely used for surveying throughout the world. It offers a relatively inexpensive alternative to conventional surveying for many uses. GIS users in increasing numbers are incorporating GPS into the data collection phase of their projects. Interfaces between GIS and GPS are being developed, and experiences gained are leading to increased and improved integration of GIS and GPS. This paper explores GPS technology, its operation, and its uses in GIS projects. |
