Low-Thermal Expansion Zirconyl Phosphate Ceramic
The possibility of obtaining thermal-shock-resistant material in the ZrO2-P2O5 system was studied. A zirconium oxychloride salt (ZrOCl2.8H2O) and phosphoric acid (H3PO4) were used as precursors, and mixed in the ratios 1:1, 1.5:1, and 2:1. The resultant compounds were dried and sintered at different...

Zusammenfassung: | The possibility of obtaining thermal-shock-resistant material in the ZrO2-P2O5 system was studied. A zirconium oxychloride salt (ZrOCl2.8H2O) and phosphoric acid (H3PO4) were used as precursors, and mixed in the ratios 1:1, 1.5:1, and 2:1. The resultant compounds were dried and sintered at different temperatures (1200 and 1300 C). The samples were characteried by XRD and SEM. The crystalline zirconyl-phosphates compounds obtained were correlated with the processing conditions. 4 refs. |
