Zusammenfassung:The relationship between the interfacial tension (IFT) of the different asphalt components such as aromatics, waxes, resins and asphaltenes, and the surfactant solution systems, and their stability as emulsions were investigated in order to determine which components decreased IFT and which increased it. The rheological properties and aqueous phase salinity of asphalt emulsions with different surfactant formulations comprising cationic, anionic and nonionic surfactants alone or in binary mixtures were studied.
