Zusammenfassung: | The prevention of global warming has become an international matter of concern. The steel industry which is a major consumer of energy, especially fossil fuels, is attempting to make energy savings in the iron and steel processes. At Kobe Steel, a pulverized coal injection (PCI) technology into a blast furnace had been developed and implemented since 1983. In this report, the life cycle inventory analysis on the technology shows that PCI contributes to a decrease in the CO sub 2 emissions from steel production processes. |
