Zusammenfassung: | High temperature erosion problems came to attention with the recent trend in accelerating the use of coal energy as subsitute for oil. High temperature erosion has been experienced in energy related instruments. General characteristics of high temperature erosion, high temperature erosion at fast flow rate and one at slow flow rate are explained. Fundamental concepts for the selection and the development of abrasive materials are given. Coating technologies such as PVD and spraying are effective as counter-measures for high temperature erosion as seen in examples of applications. Materials discussed include SS304, SS310, 2.25Cr-1Mo, 5Cr-0.5Mo, STBA24, IN738, X40, M246 and 9Cr-1Mo. |
