Zusammenfassung:The thin slab (90 to 120 mm thickness) continuous casting machine of 50 tons scale was constructed and tests have been repeated since. The stable molten steel supplying technology within a mold and the development of powder for high speed casting were explained. Hot coils with 3.5 mm thickness of a low carbon steel (0.05% C), a medium carbon steel (0.11% C) and high strength low alloy steel were produced by the thin slab casting machine and evaluated. The evaluation of qualities proved equality with conventional ones.
