Zusammenfassung:The paper presents the results of investigations performed in the All-Russia Institute of Light Alloys and devoted to the development of combined structure refinement of ingots from hypereutectic Al-Sl alloys (silumins). These techniques involve the ultrasonic melt treatment during continuous casting of ingots. The devloped modes and techniques enable the production of ingots with fine (20-30 mu m) primary silicon particles, which allows to improve plasticity and to manufacture extrusions for house building and forged pistons for automobile engines.
