Zusammenfassung:Found in Inflammatory Zone 1 (FIZZ1) protein plays an important enhancive role in inflammation and angiogenesis. This study aims to explore the effects of FIZZ1 on murine atherosclerosis. The murine aortic endothelial cells were treated with an adenoviral vector encoding FIZZ1 short hairpin RNA (Ad-shFIZZ1). Murine atherosclerosis model was established with ApoE mice. The effects of FIZZ1 were studied and . Ad-shFIZZ1 treatment suppressed the expression of FIZZ1 and the formation of capillary tube formation . Administration of Ad-shFIZZ1 suppressed FIZZ1-mediated signaling, the growth of endothelial cells and the production of inflammatory molecules in murine aorta , and inhibited the development of atherosclerosis . FIZZ1 played a potent promotive role in atherosclerosis, and could serve as a novel therapeutic target for the treatment of the disease.
