Zusammenfassung: | The subsolidus phase diagram of the quaternary system Na2O- CaO-MgO-SiO2 was derived. The system consists of 9 binary and 17 ternary compounds and may be divided into 59 elemental quaternary subsystems. Five compositions located inside the elemental quaternary subsystem CaO.SiO2- Na2O.2CaO.2SiO2-Na2O.2CaO.3SiO2-2CaO.MgO.2SiO2 were synthesised. The resulting matte glazes had a melting point of 1300 C, and contained wollastonite and akermanite as the main crystalline phases. The crystals are elongated and prismatic. The glazes can be used in stoneware production. 6 refs. |
