A nonlinear dynamical model of oscillatory zoning in plagioclase
A non-linear dynamical model for the oscillatory zoning found in many plagioclase crystals is presented. This model is based on an isothermal, constitutional, undercooling mechanism involving diffusion and growth kinetics in the melt.
