Zusammenfassung:Presents an optical diagnostic of the spatial and temporal evolution processes of a pseudospark discharge inside a pseudospark switch. The effects of the hollow cathode geometry and of the electrode hole diameter are analysed. The discharge evolution is studied using time resolved high speed photography and time resolved spectroscopy. A second luminous phenomenon, appearing inside the hollow cathode after the beginning of the main discharge, is analysed. (Original abstract-amended)
