Zusammenfassung:To find the most suitable way of sintering MgSiN sub 2 ceramics, the hot pressing method was applied to MgSiN sub 2 powder prepared from MgN sub 2 and amorphos Si sub 3 N sub 4 . The density of the tablets obtained was 3.161plus/minus0.002 g/cm exp 3 . This is a 2% improvement on a previous sintering method which made use of sealed molybdenum containers to prevent the evaporation of magnesium.
