Zusammenfassung: | The anisotropy and crystallographic texture of Al plate and sheet used in aerospace applications is first reviewed. Examples from 7150-T7751 and 7055-T7751 plate are presented and discussed. The anisotropy and texture of 2090, 2091 and 8090 flat rolled products are discussed in terms of the hot-rolling texture components. Finally, results from a USAF-sponsored program aimed to reduce the intensity of the hot-rolling texture components are discussed in the context of the previous aerospace alloys and products. It is concluded that anisotropy of mechanical properties has different origins. (Author) |
