Zusammenfassung: | A dilatometric study was conducted to characterize the Mg2Si phase in a 6063 Al commercial alloy which was homogenized for 15 h at 550 deg. The expansion study at different heating rates permitted us to determine the interval of temperature where the precipitation of Mg2Si takes place, later confirmed by isothermal aging in the range between 315 and 398 C. The solubility curve of this phase was deduced. The obtained activation energy of 20.4 Kcal/mol is in agreement with the activation energy of Mg2Si phase reported by other authors. (Author) |
