Zusammenfassung:A simple method of designing a shock absorber to protect a type B cast-iron container is developed. The results of deformation tests of the structural material (steel pipes) used for the shock absorber are presented. The accelerations and strains measured during the 9 m drop tests of the container with the shock absorber are compared with the theoretical results of the calculations for the shock absorber design.
