Zusammenfassung:An oxygen ionic conductivity of zirconia was applied to strengthen the zirconia-zirconia joint brazed by aluminum. The interfacial structure was examined by conventional transmission electron microscopy and ultra-high voltage electron microscopy. The joining strength was evaluated by the four-point bending test. From the results, the effect of the interfacial structure on the joining strength was also discussed. It can be expected that the zirconia-zirconia joint brazed by aluminum can be strengthened by applying a DC voltage. The interfacial structures was quite different, depending on whether a DC voltage was applied or not. These results suggest that the joining strength is affected by the interfacial structure.
