Zusammenfassung:Most existing methods of strengthening glass alter the composition and structure of the surface layer. In addition, there are several serious manufacturing disadvantages. The results of treating container glass with a constant magnetic field under industrial conditions are reported. Thermomagnetic treatment increased the compressive strength of jars by 20-30% and the microhardness of the glass also increased. The basic advantage of this method is that it makes it possible to strengthen complex-shaped articles without altering the manufacturing and preserving the natural state of the glass surface. There is also no environmental pollution. 6 refs.
