Synthesis and superconductivity of a new type of 1212 phase cuprates (B, Cd) (Sr, Ba)2YCu2Oy
A new type of 1212 phase cuprate (B,Cd)Sr2YCu2Oy was synthesised by solid-state reaction. In the (B0.5Cd0.5)Sr2-xBaxYCu2Oy system, Ba substitution induced superconductivity, with the optimum Tc of 60 K for x = 0.6. The nonmonotonic variation of Tc with Ba content is discussed. 15 refs.
