Tropospheric degradation products of CH2FCF3 (HFC-134a)

Zusammenfassung: | An effort is made to identify the products of CF3CHFO radical reactions occurring during the Cl atom-induced photoxidations of CH2FCF3 in O2-N2 diluent, ascertaining product yield as a function of temperature, pressure, and O2 concentrations. A rate-constant ratio is used to express the relative importance of the two major reaction pathways. CF3C(O)F and HC(O)F were the major products observed. A decomposition leading to HC(O)F and CF3 radical products is projected to be the primary pathway near the surface of the earth, while the formation of CF3C(O)F becomes dominant at the tropopause.
