Zusammenfassung:Some SiO sub 2 sols prepared from TEOS and various amounts of water (molar ratios of H sub 2 O:TEOS of 2-9.6) were tested regarding their suitability as starting materials for Zn dopant sols. The influences of composition and preparation conditions on structure were determined by viscometric measurements and by the molybdate method. Structure of the sols depended on chemical composition and applied heat treatments.
