Zusammenfassung:The effect of the volume fraction of AlN particles on the high strain superplasticity (HSRS) behavior of AlN/6061 aluminum composites was investigated experimentally. The composites were produced by a powder metallurgy route and hot-rolled after extrusion. Elongations of 300-683 and 200 percent were obtained in composites with volume fractions of AlN particles of 0.3 and 0.4, respectively. It is suggested that interfacial sliding in a partially melted matrix plays an important role as an accommodation mechanism in the HSRS behavior of the composite. (AIAA)
