Zusammenfassung:For most processes encountered in small industries, simulation and optimization tools have not yet been extensively used. NJTAP wants to apply such methods. Interest will focus on process steps responsible for waste generation (i.e., chemical reaction, distillation, wastewater streams, etc.). Simulation will give the user the possibility to retrofit the existing plan, to change a step of the process, or to evaluate the effect of turning the process into a continuous or semicontinuous operation without any real trials. This makes simulation an interesting field to explore for pollution prevention purposes.
