Zusammenfassung:The orientation and misorientation distributions of a strip cast Al-Fe-Si (AA1145) alloy have been studied in detail. This material exhibits a transition from discontinuous recrystallisation to a continuous recrystallisation process durng annealing for cold reductions > approx95%. Results show that the proportion of high angle boundaries increased with increasing cold strain, and the distribution of misorientations was found to approach that predicted from ODF (orientation distribution function) data for random spatial distribution of the grains. Effects of different initial distributions of grain boundary misorientations during annealing are probed using a computer model of microstructure evolution.
