Zusammenfassung: | The dissolution and precipitation of B have been studied in a high-C steel. Boron was found in different states: oxides, carbonitrides and iron borocarbides Fe sub 23 (B,C) sub 6 . The dissolution of iron borocarbides in austenite is complete at 1100 deg C and precipitation along gamma grain boundaries of this B-bearing phase was observed after water-quenching from high austenitizing temperature. Therefore, B precipitates along gamma grain boundaries before pearlite nucleation. |
