Zusammenfassung: | The study checks the applicability of four eddy-viscosity-based turbulence models for two configurations of flows affected by transverse curvature: the zero pressure-gradient boundary layer developing on the surface of a circular cylinder of radius, a, aligned with the flow, and the axial fully developed flow between concentric cylinders. It is shown that for the axial developed flow between concentric cylinders, most models predict all quantities in reasonably good agreement with DNS data. For thick axisymmetric boundary layers at small a(+), all the models underpredict turbulence quantities and C(f) by a large amount. (AIAA) |
