Zusammenfassung: | With the growing interest in the use of synthetic fibre-reinforced concrete in the construction industry, attempts to clarify its performance have become important. The characteristics of various synthetic fibres and the behaviour of concrete reinforced with each of these fibres are discussed here. The present paper reviews current research concerning the performance of synthetic fibre-reinforced concrete based on polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), acrylics (PAN), poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA), polyamides (PA), aramid, polyester (PES) and carbon reinforcements which are considered to be promising for the development of cementitious composite materials. |
