A sample was chosen for U-Pb zircon dating. Pengite from an eclogite sample yielded an Ar-Ar ispchron age of 662 +/- 13 Ma, representing the age of retrograde metamorphism. Dabieshan may contain a Neoarchaean ultrahigh pressure metamorphic belt that may be the oldest in the world. (AIAA) |
