Zusammenfassung:Cybercrimes are developing at a rapid pace, forcing investigative methods to follow suit through the implementation of integrated virtual reality (VR) techniques. The current study discusses preliminary findings from the utilization of VR training in cyber investigations, particularly in search and seizure procedures. Using a three-stage training, students were assessed on the use of a VR program through pre- and post-testing and in-depth interviews. These findings indicated that VR training helped students understand and reinforce concepts, procedures, and techniques of cyber investigation. These findings signified how pivotal it is to integrate VR training in academia and forensic departments. Cybercrime investigation training is expected to both quickly and efficiently incorporate technological and industrial advancements accompanying the Fourth Industrial Revolution so that newly discovered and sophisticated cybercrimes can be prevented as soon as possible. Ultimately, the training will aid investigators in creating efficient and effective countermeasures while alleviating burdens on the investigation.
