Zusammenfassung:Pancreatic surgery is major surgery which, according to international consensus,1,2 should be centralized into units with adequate expertise, experience, case load, and facilities. However, even between high-volume pancreatic surgery centers, heterogenous operative procedures, such as total pancreatectomy (TP), are in use, leading to wide variability in the outcomes. Thus, more accurate classification of the surgical techniques of TPs may be warranted.
