Zusammenfassung:The microstructure of TiB2-Ti(CN)-Ni ceramics was investigated using electron microscopy. TiB2 and Ti(CN) often grew together with a unique orientation relationship. Ti(CN) particles also precipitated in TiB2 crystals and a different orientation relationship between precipitated Ti(CN) particles and TiB2 crystals was observed. The TiB2/Ti(CN) interface was investigated using high-resolution electron microscopy. Hot pressed material was found to have two Ni-rich intergranular phases with Ni31Si12 and Ni16Ti6Si7 type structures and an amorphous phase on grain boundaries. 7 refs.
