It is customary to wait a factor of six of the loading time. Creep data were therefore collected starting at 6 s after loading. The equipment features and operational details of the modified dead-weight loading machine are described. Isothermal creep data for a unidirectional vinyl ester composite at constant stress (8 MPa) for various aging times are reported. These fiber-reinforced plastics are used in the aerospace and automotive industries for load-bearing application. |
