Purification of Electrolytic Iron

The article discusses the history and present status of purification of an electrolytic iron. At present, a general grade electrolytic iron in the market is produced by electrolytically refining a pure iron as an anode using sulfuric acid bath. The authors have conducted the developmental work for a purer electrolytic iron. Purity of electrolytic iron developed in 1992 was 99.997 mass% with 1950 in RRR. The developed iron is being used as a candidate material as an international standard iron.
