Zusammenfassung:The influence of tensile stresses on the photodestruction of orientated single fibres, films and filaments due to uv irradiation at 254, 313 and 365 nm has been studied. It can be shown that there is a relationship between the build-up of free radicals, bond rupturing and the strength decrease due to the irradiation of stressed specimens. Experimental data suggest that long wave irradiation reduces the strength loss less than short wave irradiation does for both stressed and non-stressed specimens. Graphs. 17 ref.--M.R.M.
