Zusammenfassung:Improvements of the matrix isolation/electron spin resonance technique for measurement of nitrogen oxides and peroxy radicals in the atmosphere stem from the use of deuterium oxide instead of water as the matrix. A numerical procedure for analysis of composite electron spin resonance spectra obtained from atmospheric samples was developed and applied to laboratory and atmospheric samples. The research demonstrate the ability to retrieve small amounts of H sub(2)O in the presence of large amounts of nitrogen dioxide and other peroxy radicals.
