Improving the ductility of γ(TiAl) based alloy by introducing disordered β phase
A ductile phase was successfully introduced into a gamma -TiAl alloy by adding a large amount (7-32 at.%) of vanadium and using suitable heat-treating procedures. Zusammenfassung: | A ductile phase was successfully introduced into a gamma -TiAl alloy by adding a large amount (7-32 at.%) of vanadium and using suitable heat-treating procedures. It was found that gamma and B2 phases co-existed after air- or water quenching from the beta + gamma phase filed, and B2 was an ordered phase with high strength, which could transform into disordered beta phase after ageing. This beta phase was very beneficial to the ductility of the TiAl-based alloy. |
