Electrochemical reduction of heat-treated, electrolytic MnO sub 2 in LiClO sub 4 produces orthorhombic Li sub x MnO sub 2 , which is rechargeable at 2- 3.8 V. The a-axis shrinks during oxidation and expands during reduction. For part I, see Ceram. Abstr., 1991, 70 [9-10] 70-12183A.
