Zusammenfassung:A laser simulation method for realistic comparison of high-temperature resistant and nitrided steels and refractory alloys is provided, which also facilitates pre-evaluation and checking of the fields of application of materials. Control of the laser energy on the basis of quantitative reflection is expected to permit prognosis of intermetallic compounds, sintered metals and ceramics with special simulation type materials testing. Thus surface wear due to thermal shock is studied using a closed measurement chamber with a spectrometer metering the surface and plasma temperatures and detection of the irradiated and reflected pulse energy. Specific ambient gas effects are also covered by the chamber. Graphs, Photomicrographs. 4 ref.--R.H.
