Ultrafine iron oxide powders generated using a flow-through hydrothermal process

The rapid thermal decomposition of precursors in solution (RTDS) method is introduced as a mechanism for generating ultrafine iron oxide powders. Particle size and crystallinity characteristics are related to the RTDS processing conditions and to the salt used as the iron oxide precursor.
