Zusammenfassung:Published data in this population are excellent, with perioperative mortality less than 1% and very low freedom from aortic valve reintervention rates (about 1% per patient year) in patients with MFS.1 2 This does imply a relatively ‘high bar’ when evaluating any direct head-to-head comparison between PEARS and VSRR. The promising short-term and medium-term outcomes observed with the FS provide credence to the notion of external aneurysm ‘support’ at the aortic root level, and indirectly support the conceptual framework around the PEARS procedure. [...]the ability to properly anchor the graft at the level of the aortic annulus/basal ring is imperative in preventing future annular dilation and resultant aortic regurgitation.
