Zusammenfassung:	The purpose of this study is to overlay the experience of creating a geographic information system (GIS) onto the background of numerous methodological and applied studies that have been recently implemented in Russia. Our GIS called "AIRPOLL" was designed to organize storage, retrieval, and visualization of data, refilling and protection of data bank, and selection of the techniques for structuralization of the spatial data. The integral components of the system are the block of simulation and the tools for plotting the operational computer maps.
