The dispersion has an isoelectric point (IEP) at pH 7, and better dispersion at lower and higher pH than 7. The powder has a BET surface area of 2.3 m2 /g at pH 7 and 97 to 105 m2/g at pH 1, 11 and 13. The sol-gel specimens derived from well dispersed suspensions with pH 11 and 13 showed a high relative density (95 to 98%). 16 refs. |
