Zusammenfassung:Desorption of atoms from a gold surface induced by recoil imparted during (n, γ) reactions is considered. Results of an idealized molecular dynamics calculation are given as well as results of a series of experiments carried out under intense neutron irradiation. The methodological aspects of both theory and experiment are discussed, and suitable new elements for further experimentation are suggested.
